Why UTRGV?
UTRGV really provided an inexpensive nurturing environment where I would be able to get a superb educational experience, whilst still being close to home. It even provided me with the opportunity to be able to work toward my career goals in the medical field.

What made you decide on your current major?
The main thing that caught my eye with this major is its specific program that would allow me to take the prerequisites that I needed for dental school.

What do you hope to achieve beyond completion of your major?
After college I will be attending a dental school and hopefully become a practicing dentist. I would love to help not only through dentistry, but through lending a hand within the surrounding communities.

What do you like most about UTRGV?
The community - the people are the ones that make UTRGV the special place that it is. The friendly faces that you see all around campus whether it be from staff or just from the students is what really makes the experience a blessing.

What does being a Vaquero mean to you?
I take pride in being a student of UTRGV since it has given me the opportunity of a lifetime in the way that no other college has given me - a chance to reach the stars. As well as being true to oneself and having pride in one’s beginnings and never stop trying to achieve success

What opportunities has UTRGV helped you find throughout your community?
It really helped me open up and create a strong social network, through my work it helped me become a real role model. It helped me in opening my eyes to the different opportunities there in improving and sustaining the community.

What advice do you have for fellow students pursuing their degrees?
To never stop chasing their dreams. The opportunity has been given to them, it’s up to them now to take advantage of it. Life has its difficulties but the true measure of one’s character stems from their ability to adapt and overcome life’s twists and turns. Finally, don’t compare yourself to others; compare yourself to the person you were yesterday.
