Theory of Change Model

“Family and Education, the Future of a Nation” is a grassroots movement, which has been key to the transformative and sustained impact on family leaders. Faculty who welcome family leaders into their classroom and implement Family-Centered Pedagogy practices and see the impact on their students and in themselves soon begin to incorporate those practices to expand their research. For this reason, we believe that to establish sustainable family-centered partnerships, the change process must begin with family organizing and must take place in a safe, family-friendly environment (e.g., home, community-based organization, or community center). Then, family leaders can help faculty create family-friendly environments in their classroom and across their institution. Figure below depicts AVE Frontera’s Family-Centered Theory of Change Model with permeable boundaries that signify how each level can be interlaced.
