What is Family-Centered Pedagogy?

Family-Centered Pedagogy (FCP) is defined as the enrichment of the teaching experience in which students complement their own instruction by drawing from their family experience and ancestral knowledge. Family is (loosely) defined as anyone with a close relationship, who cares, and is interested in the student’s ultimate success. In addition, FCP takes advantage of the experience and ancestral knowledge of family leaders from a community partner, AVE Frontera in our particular case.
