JSTEM

JSTEM Program

The JSTEM Program is a collaborative effort from Faculty and Mentors whose main goal is to bring opportunities to students from all over the Rio Grande Valley. The mission is to empower learning with hands-on real-world experiences. Mentors will help guide the students’ critical thinking process, time management, and specialized discipline skills in Journalism, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. 

Frequently Asked Questions

The program takes place at the Education Complex (EEDUC) of The University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley Campus. The program is offered in the summertime for a month-long period. 

Incoming Freshmen-Seniors in High School –  The JSTEM program is for incoming high school students graduating from 8th grade as well as students who are currently Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors who are transitioning to their Senior year. 

JSTEM Registration opens in April 2025 through June 2025.
