Artist Statement

personal logoI chose this degree because it allows me to express, challenge myself artistically, most of all communicate, visually with the community. For example, being able to problem solve, understand key issues, come up with visual, innovative solutions. Using effective communication skills being adaptive, flexibility is key. Designing in general has taught me that it is always evolving and improving. Some of my inspiration comes from pop culture illustrations, comic books, animated series, music, video games, and photographers such as Ryan Muirhead. Society is immersed by visual graphics, 24/7 for example, through technology, smart phones, tablets, books, pop culture, movies, TV, video games, billboards, magazines, clothing, vehicles, homes, websites, literally in everything. Without design in general, there would be nothing in this world to identify things,
places etc.

My college professors encouraged, challenged, motivated, and inspired me to complete my BFA in Graphic Design Degree. I would like to be a good asset to a company as an employee or build my own entrepreneurial art studio business in the future. Mind greater than body is a graphic novel series that consist of motion photography, self-written poems. There are different visual tones from color, environment representing a minimal, contemporary, unique meaning. For example, what you see on film you depict the mood of the scene, in this case with my motion photographs and typography are created by a Nikon DSLR camera, and Adobe Suite software such as photoshop, illustrator, InDesign. Next, the shutter speed is reduced to maintain movement, creating an expressive motion within each image. Environment, LED lights play a primary role, such as setting up the mood, self-written poems are used to describe each concept.
