Artist Statement
I’m grateful my parents helped me start with art. I was able to get the art experience of painting with acrylics and get to know other forms of art. I was always fascinated with my school supplies and my markers; I hated the idea of having boring covers for my notebooks so that’s where I started my imagination and creativity to expand.
I started college as a Business major student. When I started with my core classes, I felt that I was missing something, and made me think that Art was my purpose and my vocation. When I switched to Graphic Design, I felt that I found my academic purpose, not only that but my vocation. I believe in the phrase “Trust the process”. When I look back years ago, I have made big improvements on myself. You do not know what you are capable of if you do not try.
As a designer, I must keep in mind how our environment, society and beliefs are constantly changing. And us as artists, we need to embrace it and learn to be open minded. I want my art to be remembered, but also, I need to learn to take critique and feedback from others because it helps me to improve and be better next time.
