Artist Statement
From the moment I could pick up a pencil, art has been a fascination of mine. Growing up I was always very artistically inclined, so much so that there has never been a doubt in my mind that that’s what I’m meant to do with my life, I feel like it would be a waste not to. I love all different types of art, from drawing, sculpting, and painting, but graphic design was something that resonated to me on a deeper level. The act of problem solving without the need for words mixed with the aesthetic aspect of design hooked me.
For me graphic design is art with a purpose, and I would love for my designs to create beau-tiful solutions and impact the world around me.
The biggest inspiration in my design path, however cliché it may sound, has been my dad. As a talented artist and architect, I’ve always admired his skill, professionalism, and creativity. He’s been a constant motivation to push myself to think creatively and to work hard to achieve my goals as well as an inspiration to shape my own design style. My approach to design is more rational and logical, with the purpose of proposing and finding solutions to problems creatively. Not to simply create something beautiful, but to create something beautiful and functional.
