Everyone finds their passion at a young age, mine happened to be at 14 years old when I decided to join as many clubs and organizations as possible to figure out what interests me.The last club that I joined was Yearbook; they handed me a digital camera and named me the photographer of my high school and I immediately fell in love with photography. Later on, I saw the process of designing, drafting, and the use of different visual methods in the creation of the yearbook, and a spark grew within me; I knew I had to pursue my degree relating to working with graphics and photography. I began to work as the head of the photography group in my church and began to take classes to improve my photography and editing skills. After graduating high school, I decided to pursue my career by majoring in graphic design by attending UTRGV. UTRGV gave me the opportunity to grow as an artist, graphic designer, and as a photographer. In the future, I hope to continue working with graphics and photography by being able to teach to future generations. I’m positive that I will continue learning and improving my work and whatever hardships I will face in the future I will use the tools and skills I was taught throughout my career. Graphic design is more than making items or posters “look good”– it’s being able to communicate without using words through visual representation. As an artist,I seek to be able to express my feelings, work, or any external inspiration through the use of graphics, photography, and or any visual art.
