Heaven Records
Heaven Records is a music production and distribution company located in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Its target audience is locals looking for an opportunity to find their voice and who have a message. The inspiration for the company is the unpredictability of everyday life in the city, and it aims to inspire truth and poetry in music. The artists selected to represent or work with the company align with the core values of the company, while bringing their own interpretation of the message and of their truth with rap.
Monterrey is a beautiful city with a tall mountain standing strong in the center, and the harsh reality that many people live in doesn’t detract from the magnetic nature of the city. Visiting the city a few times, I really felt inspired by how it made me feel. At night when I drove around, the skyscrapers and the lights are bright and vibrant and in the day the mountain stood defiantly in the center, looming over everything. I found that music is the heartbeat of the city and it thrums beneath the pavement. Music can be a platform, poetic in nature. Music doesn’t have to just be catchy, but it can really say something. This music company is what I want music to represent, the voice of the everyday which resonates in a way stronger than a speech. It’s a platform to give expression and voice to those without the privilege of either.
