Artist Statement

personal logoIn my childhood I had a vivid imagination but struggled greatly with social anxiety. Art became my way of expression. If I couldn’t communicate well with my words, then I would do so visually. After I turned 17, my life changed greatly, and I managed to overcome the worst parts of my social anxiety. My art took a backseat for several years while I explored my sudden transformation. Even with acknowledging my growth, I knew that many parts of me were still begging to be communicated visually in a way which my words would not do justice. Therefore, when I started regenerating myself through art again, I geared my direction toward visual communication.

When I work, I like to take time to analyze the situation. I do research, form a plan, then dive in to action. The important aspect of my work is being able to effectively communicate information in a visually appealing way. I believe this is significant to how society can receive and transmit all kinds of knowledge. Sometimes it only takes a single image to make an impact on somebody.
