Far From Home

My BFA exhibit is centered around the subject of how difficult it is dealing with the choice of picking between your roots. How being in a border state can cause a cultural displacement amongst its residents. We’re so close to our ancestral home. Where most of our parents were born and raised, and get told so many stories, but are unable to go or visit our relatives due to unforeseen circumstances. First poster is a promotional poster called Far From Home that emphasizes the border wall right down the center with depictions of cities from both sides of the border. My second poster is an infographic with small quotes from a few residents in South Texas voicing their concern over what’s currently happening. Finally, my last item is a booklet called “Far From Home” which contains more interviews with photographs they consider precious and what they miss.
