Borderline
For my senior Design project, I wanted to look within myself and my culture. With a focus on being able to express myself as well as give others with similar backgrounds an accessible way to do the same. I knew I wanted to make apparel, but I needed to find a way to make it unique. I wanted to create designs with iconography found in the lower valley, that has its roots in Mexican and Meso-American culture. Not only that, but I wanted to find a way to meld it into something that is very important. This is sustainability. I am seeking to create a brand that is fully sustainable. Whether it be the garments themselves or the packaging, everything is sustainably made. I want to create something that speaks to people from the lower valley as well as differentiates itself from fast fashion and casual designs.
