Artist Statement
When I was young, I dreamed of drawing, being an artist. But at the time, I’d never thought of reaching it until high school. I stopped at my early years because I focused on other aspects. I had begun regaining an interest in drawing during middle school and when high school began, I knew this is something I want to stick to.
When I’m drawing, I often get lost into how I want certain aspects to come out and the meaning behind the ideas I draw. For a couple of years, I drew for the sake of drawing; often having no meaning. But after these past couple of years, I understand that works need meaning. The work gets better with music, as it creates a drive, inspiration, fuel. I will often practice drawing during my spare time as it not only helps build up my knowledge in drawing, but can also be used to relief stress.
I often dream of becoming an Illustrator or a story writer. When making these drawings or digital art, I feel gratified to see improvement, comparing myself to years prior when I thought I couldn’t make work like this. But I know that I can do better, and with time and practice, I can go further beyond.
