Artist Statement
Since I was a little girl, art have been part of my life. I find art as my comfort zone because it’s what makes me feel myself. Now as an authentic grown up and mother of two, I decided to come back to college 12 years later to pursue my career into art with no experience in graphic design, because I believe that if you do what you like there are no limits in the path. Through graphic design, I have the opportunity to find myself and communicate my own perception of my surroundings defined by design elements and principles. Art and design are about making people to believe in our crazy perceptions and understand our visual concepts of our own essence. When I begin on a new work project, my creative process is to brainstorm by sketching on paper and pencil, digitalize my drafts, refined drafts and create a final digital artwork. When I have a creative mind block, I try to step away and take a walk to clear my mind. Later, I go back to my sketchbook so I can have a much better inspiration. Through my educational career path as designer, I challenged myself in learning how to have fun and create a balance composition when using vivid colors, bold typography, and layouts, offering viewers a clear and neat visual message of my own perspectives. I strongly believe that a good attitude, discipline, and determination has helped me to get inspire and motivated me to achieve my dreams as a graphic designer.
