The History of Ukiyo-E poster / 24” x 30” / Promotional poster created for exhibition.
For my BFA exhibition, I decided to take the Ukiyo-E inspiration and incorporate my heritage into the design by combining a Geisha and Calavera Catrina elements into an illustration and incorporate type to create a poster that folds into a booklet with information about the history of Ukiyo-E and the mission statement of the fictional museum, Edo Art Museum. A card design using the illustration and elements of the poster was created to reference an old Edo period card game named Obake Karuta.
