Collector Forest

For my senior exhibit project I decided to create a children’s book that tells a fun little adventure story. This book is written in a way to introduce new words to older children while keeping it imaginative and adventurous. This would be a great book to tell my little brother who enjoys adventure stories and questioning the unknown and can also be used for my BFA.

I am proud to present my children’s book entitled The Collector’s Forest written and illustrated by me. The book of a small cat-like creature as he goes through an adventure through the forest after hearing of the rumors of the Collector. There he encounters individuals that have their biases based on the rumors and try to deter him from meeting with the collector. I decided to use the cat-like creature because I think it’ll be a cute central character that can grab attention with its big eyes that can be
found humorous.

This is an ideal for my BFA project. I wanted to do something that contained illustration and playing with typography. I am passionate about working with this children's book and excited to see the final product. I wanted to play around with visual elements that were in many stories I grew up reading. My book will be using InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
