Artist Statement

personal logoGrowing up, Art has taken many forms around me and has always been an important influence in my family. My grandmother would periodically hand craft blankets and pillows as well as paint me acrylic scenes. My uncle would draw still life scenes of my choice, my mother was an arts and crafts teacher and my father, who himself is an artist, still paints today. I love to see the work they have created and that in itself led to me wanting to create my own pieces of art. I started off with simple drawings, worked my way past painting, and finally ended in digital art. Digital art has become
my niche.

My own personal work focuses on my childhood love of cartoons and animation. Growing up those were the shows my brother and I watched. In the early 2000’s the programs that shaped my imagination were from Cartoon Network shows to even that late night block that showed Anime programs. Those cartoons were a huge inspiration to my artstyle and I love bringing the colorful characters to life in my own work. I enjoyed the look and always tried to inject a lot of that feeling of childhood adventure and love into my work. Character illustrations are what I have decided to focus my career on. Sitting and creating the settings and adventures for my characters is all part of the process in my work.

I hope that my work can one day inspire and motivate others to bring a fun and colorful style into their own works of art. I encourage other artists to continue creating more works and inspire another link in the chain of art.
