Explore Media Entertainment is a recording company whose purpose is to both supply and help promote their signed artists to a broader audience. Although Recording Labels get a bad rep due to the treatment of their artists, Explore Media Entertainment Strives to have better relationships with their musicians. The top priority of a music label should always be making your signed artists look great in the public eye whether it be through their music or promotion. Explore Media Entertainment also owns a magazine company which is used to promote and discuss the latest in music and what’s happening with artists currently under their label.
“The Architect” has just released his newest album titled “Apparatus” and with it two posters and a magazine article have also been released. One of the two posters is used to promote the release of the album while the other poster showcases the design of the front and back of the album cover art. Along with both sides of the album, there are also the names of the songs on the album accompanied by frequencies underneath showing how the songs will sound. Alongside that, there is also a magazine article that features an in-depth interview with The Architect about the release of
the album.
My appreciation for music helped inspire me to create and design for a musician who is labeled as a producer. I wanted the design to be simple and effective in communicating to the viewer. I designed the posters with emphasis on elements that signify who the musician is as an artist. To communicate that to the audience I chose the name “The Architect” for the musician. An Architect is somebody who builds something from the ground up much like a producer does in the music industry. Meanwhile for the album title, “Apparatus” means the equipment needed in any given field which is also a clue as to what kind of music the album will be focusing on. For the design of the album cover I based it off a control console which is the main equipment used to produce music in a studio. My magazine was designed to introduce new listeners who may not have heard anything about the artist before reading. I wrote an in-depth interview about who The Architect is and their life story leading up to the release of their brand-new debut album. Overall, I wanted to create a rich environment with a lot of information to take in.
