LotlBoba

I chose to create a brand identity for a bubble tea cafe not only because I enjoy drinking boba but the memories that come with it. Whether it is to meet a friend to chat, hang out with my brothers, or sit down to get work done, boba cafes are my go to. I have visited so many boba places around the RGV. I have also gone to boba cafes in San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas. I love seeing all the unique boba drinks they create. I look at the design aspects of their business. From their logo to the design of their cups. Thinking of what I like about their brand design and what could be improved. These experiences made me confident in designing my own boba brand.

Creating aspects that would take a regular boba shop to the next level.I have never seen a boba shop with an app where you can accumulate rewards, order ahead, and get mascot merchandise. I am showcasing the main aspects of my app as well as bringing the merchandise to life. I came up with the name Lotl Boba after thinking of a chamoy inspired boba drink I saw in Austin. Thinking of Mexico I remembered that there's an axolotl illustrated on their 50 peso bill. Axolotls are really fascinating little creatures only found in the Xochimilco lake. I cut down the name to Lotl to make it easier to remember. Lotl also sounds like "lot of '' so there is also a play on words. There are design elements throughout my project that are inspired by colorful Mexican floral designs. Like these designs, they were manually drawn and painted. I brought it to life digitally and physically. Lotl Boba is the combination of a famous Asian drink with a Mexican design style twist.
