Artist Statement

personal logoI don’t think I ever had a moment where I knew this is what I wanted to do, in a way it came naturally. Growing up I had always been interested in fashion design and was always looking out for the latest trends. When I entered college my plan was to get a degree in something else and then when I graduated, learn more about design. This was my plan originally because I knew design wasn’t a stable career. However after a semester of being in college, I realized my passion for design was only getting stronger and that’s when I decided to switch my major to graphic design. I am thankful my parents supported me, because without them I wouldn’t be where I am right now.

Every time I am about to start a new design, it’s important for me to not force things and just kind of let things flow. My work is a reflection of myself and what goes through my mind. I want people to relate with my designs and see it more as story telling, at the end of the day that is what design is.

In order for me to create I need to be in a peaceful place and be grounded with myself. I usually put some music and I let the creative flow in me. When I feel I’m stuck, I usually go for a walk, connect with my friends, and mainly just enjoy the little things in life.
