Luminescence

For my exhibit, I decided to do a fashion photography studio. I was interested in doing a photography studio because I’ve always had a love for photography and would love to have my own photography studio in the future. Combine that with my interest in fashion and this exhibition was born. For this exhibit, I did three projects, a poster, a photo book, and a magazine cover. I wanted to approach this exhibit in a very minimalistic way considering it is mostly photography but also keeping in mind that it is a graphic design exhibit, so I compromised and met halfway. With a lot of trial and error along with the help of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, I was able to compromise and keep many graphic design elements but still with a minimal look. For my poster I was influenced by magazine covers but kept it a bit more on the simpler side so that it would not look like my magazine cover. For my photo book, I wanted it to focus on the photography and the fashion, so type is very minimal for this project. For my magazine cover, I researched many magazine covers and took influence from them to make my magazine cover look as realistic as possible. My overall goal for this exhibit was to create a fashion photography studio that would feel recognizable, minimal, and approachable. It was a struggle to come up with the end results but I’m proud of what I created.
