Aviary

As a designer, my approach to the exhibition mostly revolved around trying to make something easy to read and fun to learn, while also bringing attention to the matters that is the conservation of bird sanctuaries, as well as bringing support to said sanctuaries. Aviary is the name of the atlas I chose to make, and as a designer, I thought two different ways to make Aviary available was through a website anda book. With programs such as Adobe InDesign, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and Photoshop, I was able to successfully create such things as aforementioned. The book spreads were aimed to have a textbook feel, with quirky factoids of birds that pertain to each chapter. The website is supposed to be more along the lines of information about the bird sanctuaries, which was what inspired the book to begin with. I wanted to also utilize a soft palette, because birds are so brightly colored, I wanted to give them their space to shine as birds in the book.My only hope is that Aviary comes off as an educational read that inspires many to check out more catalogues, visit their local sanctuaries, and learn more about the birds within Texas.
