Artist Statement
Hi I’m Cascia, but I also go by Casi, I’ll be graduating this semester with a major in Graphic Design and a minor in Marketing. My free time is spent binging shows on Netflix and spending time with my friends. I have over ten notebooks filled with ideas that randomly come to my mind so when it comes to designing my favorite part is visually bringing one of those ideas to life.
For as long as I can remember art and creativity have been something my life has constantly revolved around. In high school I learned how to tell stories through video production and at 17 I learned how to capture a story on film and fell in love with the comfort of a red light in a darkroom. Going into college all I knew was that I wanted to keep the artistic part of me alive and not settle for a career that wouldn’t fill me, that is when my love for graphic design began.
My ideas come to me through books, music and the beauty of nature. You can reread a book 5 times and highlight a new quote each time, any song can have 10 different meanings and every sunset you see is never the same as the one before. I like to create art that means something to me and that can resonate with my audience. In my digital and studio work I push myself to try new themes and concepts so as an artist I can continue to grow and find myself along with the world around me.
