FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- Can I submit an application if there are no Latinas in my department?
- YES. This work is about fostering a psychologically healthy workplace, and can be used to “prepare the soil” to enhance the potential of the department to attract STEM faculty, especially Latina, and ensure that they thrive once hired.
- Can I submit an application if the Latinas in my department are in teaching track, not tenure‐line, positions?
- YES. This is about fostering a supportive department climate that optimizes the probability that Latinas will thrive, and will be attracted to, tenure‐line positions when they become available.
- My institution is an emerging Hispanic‐Serving Institution (HSI). May I submit an application?
- YES. Emerging HSIs are important contributors to the landscape of supporting Latina faculty in STEM disciplines. Although our main focus is on HSIs, applications from Emerging HSIs will be considered as space is available. Please apply.
- May more than one STEM department in the same HSI apply?
- YES. Arguably having more than one department apply from the same institution could foster department change.
