Contracts and Industry Agreements (CIA)
Contracts and Industry Agreements (CIA) facilitates the contracting process for research endeavors. CIA partners with faculty and research staff to understand project needs, address institutional risks, establish mutually beneficial agreements with sponsors and collaborators, and assist in the implementation of agreements using a total contract management approach. CIA services include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements delegated to the Division of Research while ensuring administrative approvals and clearances are obtained.
What We Do
- Create initial drafts of research-related contracts and industry agreements.
- Examine agreements to ensure they meet legal and institutional requirements.
- Engage with external parties to negotiate contract terms and conditions.
- Secure necessary administrative approvals for contracts and agreements.
- Offer advice and support throughout the contracting process.
- Act as a liaison between researchers, industry partners, and administrative units.
- Monitor adherence to institutional policies and legal requirements in contracts.
- Oversee the finalization and execution of agreements.
