Tayanna Hut

My main goal when doing this project was to center around our culture in the Rio Grande Valley. I was trying to find a product that we can all have a form of connection with; that we can all relate with in some way, shape or form. At first I thought about tacos and taquerias, but I felt that was something that might be a bit to obvious. I tried to look a bit deeper and it clicked, what about raspas. Raspas are the Mexican versions of snow cones and it’s most of us have ate in the Rio Grande Valley, we can find it open during the afternoon all the way to night time.
With that idea in mind, It was suggested by my professor to add a twist to the theme of the raspa stand. It didn’t take long for me to come up with the idea to make the raspa stand into an Aztec Theme Raspa stand. With this in mind, I feel like it will make the overall feel of the raspa stand feel more unique and different then most stands and for what they offer. The name of this stand will be, Tayanna Hut. Tayanna means ‘a gift from god’.
