Artist Statement
I am most inspired to create artwork that enables a sense of being somewhere you are not. Art that is evocative of dreams in all their strangeness, and as imaginative as books and all the storytelling that entails.
As an avid reader, I grew up wanting to visualize storytelling. That is what art became to me, a medium to tell a story when words were no longer sufficient. The similarities in visual art and written narratives motivated me to create artwork that weren't just pretty things to see, but compelling visual narratives to ponder and imagine long after you've walked away from the artwork.
As an artist I seek to constantly evolve and find new ways to get my stories across through my work, whether that be through the accumulation of lived experiences, dreams (even the waking kind), or simply just outside inspiration.
