Dichos
For the exhibit, my idea was to create a clothing brand by designing the graphics using quotes and traditional tattoos to be printed on t-shirts. Clothing is often used as a way to express ourselves and style. Today, t-shirts with quotes on them come simple and boring. Dichos’ takes inspiring quotes and does the complete opposite of that. The graphics that are designed come in color and fun typography making it fun and stylish to wear.
My exhibit idea came from my love for clothing and graphic design. Dichos’ was inspired from a college project I had where we had to create a t-shirt design that included an inspirational quote. Instead of designing a basic word design, I wanted something that would get the viewers’ attention. The word “dichos’” is “sayings” in Spanish. The logo also includes a combination of a lip and an apostrophe to go with what Dichos’ is.
