Artist Statement
Hello! My name is Joey Barrera and I have a huge passion for graphic design and media in general. Spending the past few years learning and growing in design has been a fun experience and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the future of design!
Since my youth I can say that my life has been filled with creativity and art. A majority of the experiences I have encountered have aimed life in a direction that encouraged me to always strive for an individualistic approach to tasks that I am dealt with by utilizing my creativity. Art has always been a part of everything I do and I have grown to appreciate the path that it has created for me in the sense of identity and way of thinking. This led me to where I am today and will continue to push me through this journey of design as the years continue. I think the most important part of design is that it creates a feeling within its meaning. If it can convey a mood then that will have a stronger impact as to how the viewer sees the design. With more art being very expressive towards societal issues nowadays I feel like the only way people will listen is if they see it for themselves and what better way than through art.
