Artist Statement

personal logoMy work is not linear. Process, progress, and improvement is a fundamental aspect in my work. I truly believe that less is more. This applies to everything in life and is reflected in my designs. My first art-related activity was through ballet, I was four years old when I started this amazing art, being able to express such strong feelings and emotions using only your body is
something magical.

As a senior in high school I started thinking about my career path, I wanted to do something that I could feel fulfilled by doing it, I decided to pursue Graphic design; One of the first thing I noticed when I started graphic design is that it’s everywhere, we live in a cyber world where products, places, experiences, need to be advertised in a way that attracts people, a design that drags them in, and that’s where the magic of graphic design comes in. While digital work is my focus, I incorporate photography and paintings, as inspiration.

My goal is to create art that speaks for itself, that is both informative, realistic. I seek to communicate to the viewer whether by aesthetic design that pleases the eye or through thoughtful typography that expresses an idea in a visually appealing way. Having in mind a well stated aesthetic for each project is a key element to a successful design, and aids in communicating the message to each target audience. Although my focus is graphic design, I’m very passionate about other arts, such as interior design, photography, film, writing, and classical ballet. Each of the arts have inspired me and informed my graphic design skills.
