Artist Statement
Hello my name is Oscar Ramos, I became involved with art when I was young. In Mexico I enjoyed playing with Pokémon cards, and Tazos. Both contained images of characters in different art styles, with different compositions, and interesting angles. From there I became interested in making my own compositions and attempted new styles. What is important to me in my work is to highlight the spirit of whatever my subject is. When I design something, I want that design to inspire people to look at a subject in a way they might not have before. Ideally, I want my design to change the viewers' previous perception of whatever subject it involves. For me, the best way to solve problems is to let them sit in my mind for a while, while I do different things. Throughout the day I will think about the problem in small bits, and I remember key points that I produce throughout the day. Eventually once a solid idea or solution hits me, I sit down and focus fully on the problem.
