The Bachelor of Science in Integrated Health Sciences (BSIHS) is a 120 Hour program designed to prepare graduates to obtain an entry-level position as a health science professional ready to work in a variety of places including: Community Health Agencies, Business and Educational Organizations, Public Health Departments, Nursing Homes, Retirement Residences, Home Health Agencies, Wellness/Fitness Centers, Schools, Hospitals, Medical Group Practices, Insurance Companies, Alcohol/Drug Treatment Programs and others.

The mission of the Medical Laboratory Science Program is to provide a quality educational experience that prepares medical laboratory scientists for leadership roles in a multicultural health care system. Excellence in teaching is enhanced by faculty engaged in research, and creative activities as well as professional service to the profession, the University, and the community.

The Department of Nutrition & Dietetics will prepare skilled future nutritionists and dietitians, focusing on food and nutrition innovation, research, sustainability, and health equity. The aim is to address nutritional challenges and promote wellness through high-quality education, experiential learning, and evidence-based practice in the Rio Grande Valley and beyond.

The Department of Occupational Therapy supports the mission of UTRGV by preparing graduate-level professionals capable of meeting the challenges of health care and community environments and the unique needs of a growing international and multicultural population of the South Texas region.

The Department of Physical Therapy offers an entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy* (DPT) degree. The program is a 3-year, 9-semester full- time, graduate program that will prepare graduates to be competent and compassionate licensed physical therapists working toward optimizing health and physical function across South Texas and beyond.

The mission of the Department of Physician Assistant at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is to provide an innovative advanced medical education to physician assistant students who will transform health care delivery to the multicultural population of South Texas.
