VIP
The Vaquero Innovators Program (VIP) is a Student Success initiative that combines a strong student support structure with innovative instruction. Students in VIP take two consecutive 8-week courses that serve as the focus of their VIP experiences. Based on their academic progress, students will be placed in one of the two VIP tracks offered at UTRGV. These course tracks have unique registration deadlines and differ from traditional UTRGV courses to accommodate the eight-week course model established for VIP students.
Incoming first-year students will be evaluated based on a holistic academic review. Performance Indicators, such as but not limited to, college readiness, class rank and prior credit hours earned will be taken into consideration. Each participant is evaluated on an individual basis.
