The MEP National Network

As an approved center of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), TMAC proudly serves as the official representative of the MEP National Network in Texas.

The MEP National Network is a unique public-private collaboration dedicated to delivering innovative and effective solutions to U.S. manufacturers, driving growth and propelling the future of American manufacturing.

Our mission is clear: to empower small and medium-sized manufacturers to thrive in today’s fast-paced, technology-driven economy. The MEP National Network includes NIST MEP, 51 MEP Centers across all 50 states and Puerto Rico, and over 1,400 trusted advisors and experts at approximately 375 service locations. This vast network ensures that every U.S. manufacturer has the resources and support they need to succeed.

The impact of the MEP National Network speaks for itself. In FY 2019 alone, our efforts helped manufacturers achieve $15.7 billion in sales, save $1.5 billion in costs, secure $4.5 billion in new investments, and create or retain 114,650 U.S. manufacturing jobs.

Join us and be part of a movement that’s shaping the future of American manufacturing. Together, we’re building a stronger, more innovative industry.

The National Economic Impact of the MEP Program Fiscal Year 2019

A recent study by Summit Consulting and the W.E. Upjohn Institute for Employment Research reveals that the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Program delivers an impressive economic and financial return. In FY 2019, for every $140 million the federal government invested, the MEP Program generated a return of nearly 13.4 times that amount.

The study highlights significant impacts on employment, with MEP Center projects contributing to an increase of nearly 217,000 jobs across the U.S. Additionally, the Upjohn study delved into areas of economic impact not previously reported by the MEP Program, uncovering that personal income rose by $14.0 billion and GDP expanded by $22.9 billion. This economic boost translated into an additional $1.87 billion in personal income tax revenue for the federal government.
