Commencement Bell Ringers

Commencement Bell Ringers are honors given to graduating students at each commencement ceremony. Graduating students apply to be considered for this honor during the fall and spring semesters. Students selected have been actively involved instudent life initiatives, demonstrated academic excellence, and embody the Vaquero Honor Code.
The bell has been a symbol for the institution since 2011 at our legacy institution UT Brownsville/TSC. Ringing the bell at the end of the commencement ceremony proclaims that something special has just ended. It has since become a symbol for UTRGV as one of the universities traditions demonstrating student pride to all in attendance.
