BIOLOGY INTERNSHIPS

The School of Integrative Biological & Chemical Sciences offers attractive internship opportunities to Junior and Senior students. Different positions are available each semester.

Spring 2024
INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES (BIOL 4390)
Earn three upper division credits while gaining hands-on experience. Positions for Junior and Senior students are available at:

  • Gladys Porter Zoo (aquarium, reptiles/amphibians, birds, animal behavior)
  • Parks and Recreation, City of Pharr (paid positions)
  • Edinburg Scenic Wetlands (Edinburg)
  • AgriLife Research and Extension Center (paid positions, also accepting sophomore students) (Weslaco)
  • Resaca de la Palma State Park (Olmito)
  • Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge (Los Fresnos)
  • Palo Alto Battlefield National Park (Brownsville)
  • Valley Nature Center (Weslaco)
  • Indigo Habitat LLC, private preserve (San Benito)
  • TransAmerican Aquaculture shrimp farm and hatchery (Rio Hondo)
  • Sea Turtle Inc. (South Padre Island)
  • Sabal Palm Sanctuary (Brownsville)
  • The Nature Conservancy's Southmost Preserve (Brownsville)
