Gratitude Promotes Experiential Consumption
Dr. Sunaina Chugani's study reveals that gratitude-based marketing campaigns increase the preference for experiential consumption while reducing materialistic purchases. Published in the Journal of Business Research, the research suggests that practicing gratitude enhances a sense of abundance, which in turn lowers materialism and promotes sustainable consumption.
Climate Change and the Cost of Bank Loans
Dr. Siamak Javadi's study, published in the Journal of Corporate Finance, found that businesses with higher climate risk exposure face increased costs of bank loans. The research, using data from 32,999 bank loans, reveals that banks factor in climate risk when determining loan terms, leading to higher loan spreads for firms in vulnerable areas.
Dr. Jennifer Welbourne's study found that workplace incivility leads to counterproductive work behaviors, especially in highly involved employees. Organizations can reduce these behaviors by promoting civility and providing coping resources.
