Constitutional Essay Contest
Please fill out all fields completely. Do not include your name or any other personal information in the body of your essay. (Please be sure to select your high school, home school, or UTPA.) The essay field should contain only a title and your essay text. Essays may be submitted up until 11:59 PM on April 23, 2018.
Only one submission from each student will be accepted. (If more than one submission is received, the last submission will be used.) Essays cannot be processed if the word count does not meet the 1,500 word requirement. (Essay must be between 1500-2000 words)
Finalists will be invited to campus and asked to discuss and defend their essay and answer questions on the Constitution. The fifteen selected Gelman Constitutional Scholars will be inducted at a banquet summer 2018.
Note: Essayists do not need to agree with the position presented, but must address it in writing their essay. No particular political, religious, or philosophical position will be assumed by the judges and essayists should construct their arguments on the best available evidence.
