CCRRIA Inaugural Conference: Exploring Community Resilience Imaginaries
Designed to open a trusted space for the sharing of the knowledge, wisdom and experiences of local RGV community groups and organizations in convergence with multiple sectors including academia, government and non-profit organizations around the concept of resilience. The conference started a dialogue about the different roles we all play ensuring community resilience in the face of extreme events, and how we “imagine” that role can be enhanced through the establishment of strong collaborative partnerships towards a just sustainable future for the RGV. Local and national experts, members of academic, public service/first responder, research and advocacy communities will join a series of workshops, plenary panel presentations, keynotes and concurrent sessions to co-produce and share knowledge and wisdom with local community groups in a heterarchical, humble environment meant to generate a new architecture of relationships between all attending the conference, seeking to develop some minimum agreements towards and action agenda for the RGV.
