Educational Agreements
The Office of Institutional Accreditation, Program Development, and Analysis (OIA) is responsible for reviewing and processing educational agreements that require the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs signature as delegated by the President. OIA assists in providing training regarding the educational affiliation agreement process and management of the educational affiliation agreement database.
The common types of educational agreements processed by OIA include:
- Educational Experience Affiliation Agreement: establish a relationship of a continuing nature with an outside academic clinical or training site
- Program Agreement*: implement a specific program under an approved affiliation agreement
- Both-In-One Agreement: a combined educational experience affiliation and program agreement at facilities that require one agreement or do not have multiple programs at their site
- Interlocal Cooperation Contract
- Memorandum of Understanding
- Agreement of Cooperation with Foreign Institutions
*Note: should only be used when an Affiliation Agreement is already in place.

The Contracts Office within the Procurement Office can assist with agreements that are not educational agreements.
Educational Agreements need to be completed through the Contracts+ system in iShop. Access and training to Contracts+ is provided by the Contracts Office. After a contract request is completed, agreements will be signed through Contracts+ with DocuSign.
The Office of Institutional Accreditation, Program Development, and Analysis is not responsible for any tracking or confirmation of money exchange outlined in the agreement. These responsibilities fall within the requesting department.

Legal review is required when non-standard contracts are proposed. Non-standard contracts are forms that contain substantive changes to a standard contract form or forms that are not developed and approved by the UT System Office of General Counsel.
Changes to the names of parties, amount of consideration, date, and term are examples of non-substantive changes.
Yes, agreements must be completed within three months from the contract request. (Some exceptions for non-standard agreements may apply.) OIA can only complete or cross-execute agreements that have been signed by the second party within three months. If the agreement has not been completed but is still requested, a new request will be required.
