Jeremy San Miguel

Interm Director

Visionary Sustainability Executive and Leader for Sustainable Development Operations, Programs, and Academia for UTRGV

Jeremy San Miguel serves as the Interim Director for Sustainability at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. He manages growing partnerships, academic and research programs, events, reporting and assessments, and institutional initiatives that grow sustainability throughout the Region, Texas, and International Success Measures. Jeremy has over 8 years of experience in higher education, spending most of his time in student affairs, healthcare administration, counseling & case management, sustainability and research, and nonprofit work. He holds a B.A. in social work, a M.S. in social work, a M.A. in public administration, and is pursuing a Doctor of Educational Leadership. Jeremy sits on numerous social, environmental, and economic committees and advisory boards that seek to improve quality of life for the Rio Grande Valley and its many residents.

In his spare time, he can usually be found in a fitness class, reading up on the latest journal articles, or singing karaoke with his friends. His cardinal belief aligns with Anne Frank’s famous mantra “no one has ever become poor by giving”.

Stephanie Trujillo

Program Manager

Projects, Programs, and Events Coordination of the Various Initiatives for the UTRGV Office for Sustainability

A lifelong learner with an analytical mind, Stephanie Trujillo graduated with a Bachelor’s in Mathematics with a concentration in Science and Engineering. Her journey began back in 2018 in the classroom as a high school math teacher, where she combined her love for problem-solving with an ability to connect with her students in ways that were as insightful as they were humorous. Now, as a Program Coordinator for the UTRGV Office for Sustainability, she brings this same mix of intellect and heart to her work, where she passionately champions initiatives that support a more sustainable future.

Beyond her professional life, Stephanie is anything but predictable. As an avid athlete, she is likely to be found at the gym or playing racquetball. Though her path has taken her from classrooms to sustainability projects, her motivation remains rooted in making a lasting, positive impact on the world around her, one thoughtful step at a time.
