Yvette Cantu Cazares holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Education in Counseling with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. With extensive experience in the mental health field, she has had the opportunity to work with individuals of many ages and backgrounds, helping them develop coping strategies and improve their overall well-being. Throughout her career, Yvette has remained passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate life’s challenges and enhance their mental health.
Currently, Yvette works with the Fortify Resilience initiative, a program dedicated to promoting the well-being of medical residents and fellows in underserved communities. This initiative focuses on reducing burnout, building resilience, and contributing to the development of a sustainable healthcare workforce. Preliminary findings from the program have shown promising psychological outcomes, including improved resilience and well-being among residents in the program, further underscoring the importance of prioritizing mental health in healthcare education.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Yvette enjoys spending her free time engaging in activities that bring her joy and relaxation. She has a love for gardening, finding peace and fulfillment in tending to plants and nature. Yvette is also an avid reader and enjoys discovering new books that allow her to unwind and expand her knowledge. Above all, she cherishes spending quality time with her family and pets, valuing the support and connection that comes with her loved ones.
