Biography

Dr. Maria Villegas is a board certified Dermatologist at UT Health RGV with over a decade of experience providing advanced skin, hair, and nail care to her patients.

As a Dermatology specialist at UT Health RGV, Dr. Villegas offers treatments for both children and adults. Her procedures include skin biopsies, cryotherapy, skin cancer surgery, patch testing, and more. Dr. Villegas also provides personalized patient care plans and a variety of educational resources to ensure her patients can make the most educated choice about their health.

Dr. Villegas received her Mmedical degree from University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio (UTHSCSA) in 2007 and later completed her Dermatology Residency training at UTHSCSA in 2011.

She joined the UTRGV School of Medicine Faculty in May of 2020 and currently serves as the Division Chief of Dermatology and Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, educating and training the next generation of leaders in medicine, research, and patient care.
