Lorena Flores-Hernandez

Biography

Dr. Lorena Flores-Hernandez, OD, serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the UTRGV School of Medicine. She is a board-certified optometrist at UT Health RGV with over 16 years of experience, utilizing the latest technology to provide comprehensive vision care.

Dr. Flores-Hernandez received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston in 2005. At UT Health RGV, she diagnoses and treats glaucoma, dry and red eyes, eye pain, vision loss, and more. She is board certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and specializes in glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.

Additionally, Dr. Flores-Hernandez is a member of several notable organizations, including the American Optometric Association, the Texas Optometric Association, the Rio Grande Valley Optometric Society, and the Optometric Student Association.
