Dr. Kondapavuluru V. Chowdary, MD, MBA, is the Inaugural Chair and an Assistant Professor of Gastroenterology at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine.
Born into a farming family in South India, Dr. Chowdary attended and graduated from Government Medical College in Nagpur, India.
He then moved to Glasgow, Scotland to work and hone his medical skills.
After gaining experience in Scotland, Dr. Chowdary moved to New York City to start his medical training at Wyckoff Heights hospital and fellowship in Gastroenterology at St. Vincent’s medical Center.
Dr. Chowdary then moved and started clinical gastroenterology practice in McAllen, Texas.
Along with his gastroenterology practice, Dr. Chowdary also instructed numerous medical residents in the family practice residency program in McAllen.
Dr. Chowdary is eager to train future gastroenterologists with the UTRGV School of Medicine.
