Dr. Gerardo Munoz-Monaco received his Medical Degree (M.D.) from Universidad de Carabobo Faculty of Health Sciences in 2004 and completed his Family Medicine Residency training at Indiana University School of Medicine - Methodist Hospital in 2013. After completion of his residency training, he continued his medical education and completed his Faculty Development Fellowship at The University of North Texas Health Science Center.
Dr. Munoz-Monaco is a board-certified Family Medicine Doctor at UT Health RGV. Focused on providing advanced medical care to patients, he uses the latest advancements in family medicine to improve the health and lives of children and adults in the RGV.
In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Munoz-Monaco is a member of the American Academy of Family Medicine, National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA), and a member of the NHMA Board Development Committee.
Dr. Munoz-Monaco joined the UTRGV School of Medicine Faculty in 2017 and currently serves as the Division Chief of Primary and Preventive Care, as well as an Associate Professor of Family and Community Medicine, educating and training the next generation of leaders in medicine, research, and patient care.
