Elizabeth "Liz" Reyes is currently serving as the Director of the SOM Office of Faculty Affairs at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. She has been working at the university since 2015. Prior to joining UTRGV, Liz worked at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Liz holds a bachelor’s degree in health administration and two master's degrees, one in Health Care Administration and another in Higher Education Administration. She is an active member of the AAMC Group of Faculty Affairs since 2017 and was part of the AAMC Circle of Mentors from 2021 to 2022.
As a Director of the Office of Faculty Affairs, she provides leadership and oversight for faculty affairs and development. She will be responsible for designing, planning, promoting, and implementing programs, policies, and procedures related to SOM faculty and reports to the Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs. Liz is also responsible for handling institutional and external faculty reports and serves as the faculty liaison for faculty resources and support. She has supported SOM committees and subcommittees that include PTAC, FAEC, Faculty Awards, Search Committees, Planning (White Coat and Commencement) Committees, and more. Additionally, she serves as an SOM Equal Opportunity Liaison (EOL) and is a UTRGV Staff Senator.
