Dr. Alcides Amador is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with a specialization in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. At UT Health RGV, he provides evidence-based care for children and adolescents across the Rio Grande Valley.
Dr. Amador earned his bachelor's degree in biology with minors in chemistry, business administration, and Spanish from The University of Texas - Pan American in 2010. He received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in 2015, completed his residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2018, and his fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry in 2020.
Dr. Amador is a member of several prestigious organizations, such as the American Psychiatric Association, Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians, and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Dr. Amador joined the UTRGV School of Medicine faculty in July 2020, and he currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, educating and training the next generation of leaders in medicine, research, and patient care.
