Romel Hinojosa

Years in the program: 2024

Mentor: Dr. Sarah Maestas

Title of Projects/Products:

Currently awaiting instructions on how to proceed with program/presentation placement, looking forward to working with nilgai and assessing the impact of cattle tick fever on livestock as well as more exotic non-native species. The broader effect this has on agriculture and the ecosystem is yet to be examined.

Where I am now:

I was only recently admitted into the program as of May 2024; however I am currently pursuing my degree in the College of Sciences, with a Biology Major and a Minor in English. I hope to graduate either Fall of 2024 or in the coming Spring 2025 semester. My goals are to work with endangered species, perhaps at national wildlife parks in the country or across seas to prevent the loss of more animals from the planet. I look forward to gaining experience from the work done in this program and hope to apply it in the future.
