Nutrient cycling, Biogeochemical cycling, Water quality in coastal ocean, Coastal ecosystem model

Short Bio

Jongsun Kim is a chemical oceanographer who works in marine and freshwater ecosystems.  Also, as a coastal ecosystem modeler, he is interested in biogeochemical/ecological and physical interactions in the coastal water ecosystem.  Dr. Kim’s work is centered around the interface of biogeochemical cycling in the coastal ocean and ecosystem ecology.  He asks questions relevant to understanding how natural and anthropogenic forces affect coastal biogeochemical cycling across different scales and how those influence ecosystem processes that focused on environmental issues such as hypoxia and eutrophication in the world's coastal oceans.
